6-8pm Meet the Artist: Edith Vonnegut, The Wallpaper Series
@KOBALT GALLERY 366 Commercial Street
Edie Vonnegut returns to the gallery scene with her latest body of work “The Wallpaper Series”, where her images of heroic women gracefully battling and tackling the mundane to the monumental appear amid a backdrop of the familiar bucolic scenes of old wallpapers we remember from our pasts.  The one woman show will also include larger canvases from Vonnegut’s renowned “Domestic Goddess” series.

7pm Opening Reception: Edith Lake Wilkinson Returns to Provincetown!
@Larkin Gallery,  405 Commercial Street
Larkin Gallery is pleased to announce the triumphant return to Provincetown of Edith Lake Wilkinson’s long lost art including White Line Prints from the early 1920’s. One of the earliest White Line Print makers along with Blanche Lazelle, Edith lived in Provincetown and NYC with her partner until Edith was sent to an asylum in 1924. It was then that her work was shipped to her sole living relative, a nephew in Wheeling, West Virginia where the work remained hidden in a trunk in his attic until discovered a generation later. Finally, people in Provincetown will have the opportunity to see Edith’s work for the first time since the 1920’s. We have especially chosen Women’s Week as the most auspicious time to celebrate Edith’s return and invite everyone to join us for this amazing revelation and happy conclusion to a not so happy story. The exhibit will run until October 27. For more information, please visit our website:
